Battered EMD F3 unit No. 800A appears to be on her last legs in this transparency snapped by David Leonard at the Bloomington servicing facility in June 1974. However, she was still three years from retirement from the ranks of Illinois Central Gulf. Like a number of other cab units, this engine was rebuilt by Morrison-Knudsen into an FP10 for service on the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, becoming its No. 1101.
