Douglas Kerr provided this photo of CNR J-7-b Pacific No. 5294, which his father Ken Kerr took at London, Ontario, in 1939. Delivered in 1919 by Montral Locomotive Works, this engine was originally Canadian Government Railways No. 522 before being incorporated into the Canadian National roster. The dimensions of this class were similar to those of the the J-7-c class, shown for Nos. 5295 and 5299, but their locomotive weight was 268,000 pounds. Mr. Kerr also took a closeup shot of No. 5294's cylinders and running gear.
